city of providence

designing for The Creative Capital

Shortly after graduating college, I started my career as a graphic designer for the City of Providence at City Hall. The position is under the Mayor’s Office, but I primarily worked with the Communications Department creating graphic content and finding where design work is needed for other departments and initiatives.

My responsibilities include designing for print and designing graphics for digital platforms. Some print projects I’ve worked on are reports, brochures, rack cards, flyers, posters, and ads on large and small scales. Digital media I design includes social media graphics, web invitations, presentations and all kinds of templates. I’ve also done some work within branding and guideline creation. My favorite projects I've worked on are any maps, most infographics and the City of Providence Coloring Book. One of the most difficult and largest projects I've worked on so far is Providence's Climate Justice Plan.

One of our more graphic-intensive social media campaigns was MaskUpPVD, which was collaborative messaging promoting wearing a mask in a retro, halftone design. Below is a feature of the campaign and these graphics on The Rhode Show.
