Projects, Plans & Reports
City of Providence

long-format document design

In my position as Graphic Design Manager, I receive an estimated two reports to design a month, ranging anywhere between 20 or 200 pages. Some designs require something simple, some need a grandiose design, and some need unordinary formats that fold and flip. I have selected a few of my favorite report designs so far from my time at the City of Providence to showcase here, ranging in size and style.

Creative Community Health Worker Curriculum

This project started for me as a request from our Department of Art, Culture + Tourism (ACT) for a long-format curriculum document with a "made by artists, for artists," aesthetic, mixing bold, earthy and positive elements.

The Creative Community Health Worker Curriculum (CCHW) was put together in part with the CCHW Fellowship, five Providence-based artists and a plethora of local partners. This program was designed to support artists to become RI certified Community Health Workers, expanding the impact of the arts on the social determinants of health. This collaboration has centered communities, vendors, and artists of color to support an inclusive local cultural economy and a resilient local food system.

At 105 pages, this report took six weeks to design, from design conception and layout drafting, to item placement and multiple rounds of revisions.

Providence's Climate Justice Plan

The Climate Justice Plan was my first long-format document I designed for the City of Providence. This package includes an 88-page document in English and Spanish, as well as executive summary foldout pages for each language. The Climate Justice Plan was developed by the City of Providence's Office of Sustainability in part with the Racial and Environmental Justice Committee of Providence that highlights seven key objectives, 20+ targets, and over 50 strategies aiming to create a truly equitable, low-carbon, climate resilient city.

Moving Towards Zero Waste

The Zero Waste Report was the second report I designed for the Office of Sustainability. This report ended up being a lighter workload at just 34-pages long, focusing on education and awareness on residential composting.

Neighborhood Association Toolkit

This was another easier document of 35 pages. This Neighborhood Association Toolkit was created within the Mayor's Office with the Community Relations team and a few other contributors. This document serves as a guide for success for any Providence-specific neighborhood association. This document was created mainly for a digital format but still is sized to be printed on letter paper. You can check out more on the Community Relations team here, and you can see the toolkit in full here.

DEIB Engagement Report

The DEIB Department was created in the City’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget to design, drive, implement and support the City’s efforts to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are shared and practiced principles in Providence. This Engagement Report was created to lay out the DEIB Departments goals, objectives, agenda, target audience and more.
